Kevin Crain joined Pallas Capital Advisors as a Strategic Advisor, Retirement Services. With more than four decades of experience, Kevin is a nationally recognized authority in retirement and financial wellness, known for shaping research, advancing public policy, and guiding organizations in fostering long-term financial security. He brings a distinctive perspective grounded in leadership, innovation, and a deep commitment to improving outcomes for individuals and firms alike.

Kevin has been at the forefront of advancing 401(k) innovation, leading efforts in plan design, participant engagement, and integrating financial wellness solutions that have helped employers strengthen retirement programs and improved outcomes for millions of savers. Throughout his career, Kevin has been deeply involved in the design, delivery, and advancement of 401(k) and workplace savings programs. He has led initiatives that enhanced plan design, improved participant engagement, and introduced financial wellness solutions into 401(k) platforms, helping employers strengthen their retirement offerings and individuals achieve better outcomes.

Notably, Kevin entered the retirement sector with Fidelity Investments before serving as Head of 401(k) Operations at Putnam Investments, where he helped shape the firm’s defined contribution strategy. He began his career as an Analyst at Chase Manhattan Bank and later moved into client relationship management with Bankers Trust, building a strong foundation in financial services before focusing on retirement.

He then spent nearly 20 years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he held senior leadership roles in retirement services, culminating as Head of Retirement Research. In this role, he directed a team of thought leaders and policy experts whose work influenced the national dialogue on workplace benefits, longevity, caregiving, diversity, inclusion, and 401(k) innovation.

Kevin also serves as Executive Director of the Institutional Retirement Income Council and holds senior advisory roles with McKinsey, the Milken Institute, and the Global Coalition on Aging Advisory Council. He is also a Visiting Executive for the Gerontological Society of America, an Honorary Member of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA), and an active member of its Public Policy Committee.

A public speaker and panel moderator at industry conferences, Kevin also has significant media visibility, having contributed numerous interviews to major outlets. A respected voice in the industry, he has served as Chair of the New York City Age Friendly Commission and remains a frequent speaker, moderator, and contributor on retirement, longevity, 401(k) advancement, and financial wellness.

Kevin splits his time between Gloucester, MA and New York City with his wife, Rebecca. He loves spending time with his two daughters. Kevin is an avid Boston sports fan, loves reading, movies and Peloton walking classes.
