As the Chief Investment Officer at Pallas Capital Advisors, Gaurav Mallik leverages his 20+ years of institutional investment experience to oversee all investment strategies at the firm. His expertise spans various asset classes and market conditions, ensuring robust, well-informed decisions. Gaurav’s passion lies in helping clients navigate the intricate investment landscape and achieve long-term financial objectives through personalized, dynamic approaches that optimize potential for returns and manage risk effectively.

Gaurav’s extensive experience in both quantitative and fundamental investment styles, along with his deep understanding of emerging markets, enables him to meet clients’ diverse needs and addresses their financial goals. His open-minded leadership style is credited with fostering exceptional business success and cultivating a collaborative work environment.

Most recently Gaurav served as the Chief Investment Strategist at State Street Global Advisors, where he led a team analyzing economic and market trends, assessing portfolio impacts, and identifying risk management and market opportunities. He headed the Macroeconomic and Policy team, directed Thought Leadership, and ensured all firm strategies met their investment objectives.

Prior to that role, he served as the Chief Portfolio Strategist and Senior Managing Director at State Street Global Advisors. Beginning his career as an entrepreneur, Gaurav founded and sold SKG Inc., a company that focuses on trading illiquid bonds.

Gaurav holds an MBA in Finance from Cornell University, a master’s in electrical engineering, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, from Boston University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Robert Gordon’s University in Aberdeen. He has written several papers on liquidity in credit markets and has presented research at academic and practitioner conferences. Gaurav is also a frequent contributor to print media and tv, often speaking on Bloomberg/CNBC/Yahoo Finance.

Gaurav lives in Brookline with his wife Darshana and daughters Anaisha and Anoushka. He is an avid runner, global traveler who has been to more than 50 countries and enjoys Asian fusion cooking. He serves on the Advisory Council of Cornell’s Johnson school and is chair of the TYE Foundation. He is passionate about entrepreneurship for high school students and is on the leadership board of Beth Israel Hospital.
