Vice President – Wealth Management

Athol Cochrane joined Pallas Capital Advisors in 2021 as a Vice President of Wealth Management and to lead the Newport, Rhode Island office. Prior to Pallas Capital Advisors, Athol founded Wealth Solutions, LLC, a financial planning and asset management firm. He brings over 32 years of experience in financial planning and asset management to Pallas Capital Advisors. As a Chartered Financial Consultant, he specializes in meeting the complex financial needs of individual clients and business owners by providing financial planning, asset management, estate, tax, and business succession planning solutions to his clients.

Born and raised in South Africa, Athol served in the South African Air Force and held the position of Systems Analyst at IBM. Athol emigrated to the USA in 1988 and obtained his United States citizenship shortly thereafter.

Athol is very active in several nonprofit organizations. He served as President of the Rhode Island Parkinson’s Association for 23 years, and currently serves as a Board member of the National Parkinson’s Disease Association. In addition, he co-founded and serves as the current President of the St. John’s College Foundation – a nonprofit that connects the U.S. based alumni in support the financial needs of his school in South Africa.

Athol studied economics at the University of South Africa and later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Roger Williams University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He also holds the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations from The American College.

Athol resides with his wife in Middletown, Rhode Island. They have two grown sons and a granddaughter. In his spare time, Athol enjoys spending time with his family, gardening and fishing on Narragansett Bay.
